Jimmy "Fiddlin' Jimmy" Wilson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jimmy Lee Wilson, son of Willie and Mattie Enyart Wilson, was born October 18, 1933, near Drynob, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, April 8, 2014, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, five months, and twenty days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Martha Jane Wilson; three brothers, Milburn, Floyd, and Wilburn Wilson; and two sisters, Louise Decker, and Lillian Doublin Martell.
“Fiddlin’ Jimmy”, as he was affectionately called, is survived by a son, Fred Wilson, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Erica Smith, and her husband, Ben, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Bonnie, of Roby, Missouri; one grandchild, Hayden Smith, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Lucy Pierce, of Kansas City, Missouri; his significant other, Leah Stroud, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Drynob, Missouri, and then lived most of his life in the Falcon community. He worked in the logging business for many years, and was also known for his talented fiddle playing. For the last two years, he had made his home in Harwood Manor, in Lebanon, where he had many friends.
Jimmy accepted Christ as his personal Savior at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014, in his hospital room.
In addition to his love of music and fiddle playing, he enjoyed working on cars. He had a very outgoing personality and could make friends wherever he went. His family was always very important to him and he also enjoyed spending time with his dogs.
Jimmy was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Friends may call at their convenience. A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
