Jo Maxine Estes (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Jo Maxine (Allison) Estes, age 92, of Flemington, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Parkview Healthcare Facility, in Bolivar, Missouri.
Maxine was born August 1, 1924, in Flemington, Missouri, to Joe and Fern (Young) Allison. She grew up in the area, and was a graduate of Humansville High School, and then attended the Draughns School of Business.
She enjoyed playing bridge with her group, and was also passionate about her cooking, especially while she entertained friends and family. Her meals usually included fresh vegetables, and the table was adorned with bouquets of flowers, all from her beautiful garden. She found happiness in her pets, spoiled many of them over the years. However, her true joy came from her kids, and grandkids.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 71 years, David A. Estes; three Daughters: Ellen Discher and Husband Bill, of Denton, Texas, Joni Becker and husband Clarke, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Jo Lyn Thompson and husband Llewelyn, of Independence, Missouri; four grandchildren: Kate Waite, and husband Greg, of Woodland Park, Colorado, Jason Kalb, and wife Amy, of Little Elm, Texas, Jill McCracken, and husband Matt, of Woodland Park, Colorado, Allison Clackler, and husband Cody, of Decatur, Texas; two step-grandchildren, Kalyn and Kendra Thompson, both of Kansas City, Missouri; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Audrey Long, of Springfield, Missouri; sister in law, Marcella Allison, of Flemington, Missouri; brother, Gary Allison, and wife Sonya, of Flemington; two brothers in law: Dr. Samuel Estes, of Lubbock, Texas, Clay Estes, and wife Jeanne, of Marshall, Texas; two sisters in law: Malnor Arthur, of Borger, Texas, and Olive Boston, of Ft. Worth, Texas; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, March 31, 2017, at the Butler Funeral Home Chapel, in Bolivar, with burial to follow at the Rondo Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Polk County Humane Society.
