Joan Carolyn Mustain-Brooks born June 5, 1943 in Columbia, MO the daughter of William Shadrick Mustain and Adah Lee Nichols-Mustain. She departed this life Saturday June 25, 2016 at her home in Camdenton, MO.
Joan was married to Lawrence "Don" Brooks and to this union three daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, three sisters, her husband and daughter Kim Campbell.
She is survived by two daughters (Lorrie Brooks-Wasil, Sandie Gregory), three sisters (Shirley Mustain-Herring, Linda Mustain-Foley, Judy Pitts-Young), eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her little dog Chloe.
Joan began her professional life in health care as a hospital volunteer, being among the first "candy stripers" at Olathe Hospital (Kansas), and later a Registered Nurse (RN), fulfilling a life-long dream. She retired as Director of Nursing from Camdenton Windsor Estates after many years of dedicated service.
Joan was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her church family and loved ones. A celebrated prayer warrior and a woman of GOD, Joan was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, caring neighbor and friend.
