Joan Cryer (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Joan Cryer, daughter of Elie and Maude Walden Ramsey, was born April 11, 1949, in Westville, Illinois. She departed this life Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-one years, eight months, and eight days.
On April 10, 1976, she was united in marriage to Billy L. Cryer, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Carl Ramsey; and three sisters, Carol Gold, Shirley Ramsey, and Pearl Thompson.
Joan is survived by her loving husband of forty-four years, Billy, of the home; a daughter, Laurie Scott, and her husband, Bob, of Bolivar, Missouri; a son, Mike Cryer, and his wife, Susan, of Falcon, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Virginia, Scott, Sydney, Enan, Adyson, Zach, and Brittany; four great-grandchildre, Gavin, Mark, Oliva, and David; a brother, Bill Ramsey, of Springfield, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Illinois, and then moved with her family to Humansville, Missouri and Nixa, Missouri. After she and Billy were married, they made their home in Little Rock, Arkansas and Omaha, Nebraska for several years. They then moved to the Falcon, Missouri area where they made their home for the last fifteen years. Joan was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family and also worked at Webco Manor in Marshfield, Missouri, and later, at Copeland Industries, which is now Emerson Electric, in Lebanon.
Joan had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Family of Faith Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed feeding and watching the hummingbirds and other animals, and working in her yard. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren.
Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she made for them during her lifetime.
A memorial has been established to the Family of Faith Church and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
