Joann Berry (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Frieda Joann Berry, daughter of Eugene Warren and Ollie Esther Richardson Martin, was born December 6, 1933, near Hanley, in Cole County, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, August 5, 2022, in North Ridge Place, The Arbors, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eighty years, seven months, and twenty-nine days.
On January 6, 1952, she was united in marriage to Larnce M. Berry and to this union two daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Ronnie Martin.
Joann is survived by her loving husband of seventy years, Larnce, of the home, near Lebanon, Missouri; two daughters, d’Ann Berry, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Vicki Berry Christian, and her husband, Ron, of Willard, Missouri; four grandchildren, Heather, Ashley, David and Dakota; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, David, Gavin, Kaleb, Levi, Jadyn, and Carley; two sisters, Betty Colbeck, and her husband, David, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Carol Suit, and her husband, Tuck, of Lubbock, Texas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Dove community, and graduated from Lebanon High School. After she and Larnce were married, they made their home near Lebanon, in Laclede County, and lovingly raised their daughters. Joann was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family and also worked as a bookkeeper for S. P. Gas Company for many years.
Joann made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was an active member of Dove Bible Church. She had served as church secretary and also was song leader for a number of years. She had a deep abiding faith in her Lord.
She enjoyed quilting, shopping, baking, counted cross stitch projects and writing in her journal, extensive traveling, rock hunting with her husband, and blessed many people by sending birthday and Christmas cards. She was very dedicated to her family and enjoyed having time with them. She especially liked being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories they made together during her eighty-eight years.
A memorial has been established to The Alzheimer's Association and memorials may be made at the funeral home.
