Joann Bilyeu's Obituary
Carolyn Joann Bilyeu, daughter of Paul and Ora Piercy Rector, was born August 17, 1947, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, March 3, 2009, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-one years, six months, and sixteen days. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lisa Oliver; and a brother, Gerald Rector. Joann is survived by a son, David Bilyeu, of Marshall, Missouri; three grandchildren, Stephan Oliver, Dakota Bilyeu, and Crystal Lake, and her husband, Brian; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Rector, and his wife, Sandy, of Joplin, Missouri, and Donald Rector, and his wife, Minnie, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Elizabeth Mulligan, and her husband, Clifford, and Shirley Kenfield, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School. She then made her home in Springfield, Missouri for several years. After returning to Lebanon, in addition to being a devoted homemaker to her family, she also worked for Tracker Marine for ten years. Joann followed the Baptist faith throughout the years, and had attended Happy Hill Freewill Baptist Church, near Lebanon. She loved caring for children and especially her grandchildren. In her spare time she liked working word puzzles, and watching professional wrestling on television. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed having them around her as much as possible. Joann was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday March 6, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday evening 7-8:30 pm under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established for her Grandsons education.
