Joann Long's Obituary
Joann, daughter of Lester S. and Berniece B. Capps was born November 22, 1941 in Camdenton, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, March 20, 2007 in Windsor Estates Care Center, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of sixty-five years, three months and twenty-six days. Joann was preceded in death by her parents, as well a brother, Bud Capps. She is survived by two daughters, Jolyn Arndt, of Springfield, Missouri, and Kim Brooks, of Independence, Missouri; a sister, Lois Kelley, and her husband, William, of Camdenton, Missouri; four granddaughters, Nicole Arndt, of Springfield, Missouri, Leslie Brooks, Maryann Brooks, and Jacquelynn Brooks, all of Independence, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Georgene Capps, of Camdenton, Missouri; nieces and nephews, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Joann was raised in the Camdenton area and was a graduate of Camdenton High School in the class of 1959. After graduating, she worked at various occupations in Kansas City, Texas, as well as the Camdenton area. Joann loved to organize and attend her high school class reunions. Throughout the years, she had managed to keep a very close relationship with all of her classmates. In her spare time, Joann enjoyed crafting and reading, as well as tending to her garden; she had the gift of being able to make many different things grow. Joann was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2007, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in the Dale Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Memorials to the Windsor Estates Courtyard Fund may be made through the funeral home.
