Joe Cook (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Larry Joe Cook, son of Marvin Eugene and Barbara Sue Mosier Cook, was born August 15, 1960, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-seven years, four months, and seventeen days.
His father preceded him in death.
Joe is survived by his mother, Sue Cook, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Cindy Turnage, and her husband, Aaron, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; a brother, Craig Cook, and his wife, Missy, of Nashville, Tennessee; four nephews; a great-niece; a great-nephew; several aunts and uncles, Jerry and Jean Bowman, David and Joyce Cook, all of Lebanon, Missouri, Linda Huxhold, and Kenneth and Linda Cook; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area, and then moved with his family to Independence, Missouri, when he was seven years old. He then graduated from Truman High School in Independence, Missouri. He continued to make his home in the Independence area and worked in home construction and doing handyman jobs. For the last fifteen years, he had lived in Lebanon, where he owned and operated Five Star Contracting Company.
Joe professed his faith in Christ and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Lebanon.
In his spare time he liked being outdoors where his favorite activities were playing golf, snow skiing, camping and fishing. He was a hard worker and had excellent work ethics. He was highly esteemed by those around him. He possessed a unique sense of humor and a snicker in his laugh. He also had a very big and giving heart. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his nephews, great-niece and great-nephew.
Joe was a loving son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, nephew, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the good memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Memorials to the St. Judes Children's Hospital, may be made through the funeral home.
