Joe Ginnings' Obituary
Joe David Ginnings, son of Charles and Sadie Looney Ginnings, was born July 16, 1937, near Eldridge, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, July 11, 2008, in his daughter’s home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy years, eleven months, and twenty-five days. On June 9, 1967, he was united in marriage to Janice Faye Mosier, and to this union one daughter was born. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice, on January 2, 2006; five brothers, Richard, Howard, Lark, Lawrence “Red Bud”, and Tom Ginnings; and three sisters, Ruby Ginnings, Goldie Grimes, and Barbara Cross. Joe is survived by his daughter, Roma Lucas, and her husband, Daren, of Lebanon, Missouri; two grandsons, Tyler and Brandon Lucas, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Curtie Ginnings, of Blue Springs, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Eldridge, Missouri area and lived most of his life there. After he and Janice were married, they made their home in the Eldridge community, and lovingly raised their daughter. Early in his adult years, Joe worked for Show Me Power for a few years, and then began a thirty-three year career in the boat manufacturing industry. He retired from the Lowe Boat Company in 2000. Joe had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Trinity Full Gospel Church in Eldridge. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting, especially for coon, fishing, and digging roots. His family was very important to him and he greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandsons. Joe was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mount Horeb Cemetery, near Decaturville. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
