Joey Calton (Hartville)'s Obituary
Joseph “Joey” Newell Lee Calton, son of Sonny and Vickie Calton was born December 2, 1981, in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, at the age of thirty-four years, four months, and seventeen days.
His grandparents; Clinton and Daisy Ward, and Robert M. and Mamie Calton along with numerous aunts and uncles preceded him in death.
Joey is survived by his children, Joie Lynn, Chaseton, Shaylee, and Holdyn; his stepdaughter, Bryanna Garson; his fiancé, Tonya Garson, of Hartville; his parents, Sonny and Vickie Calton, of Hartville; his brother, David Calton, of Hartville; his sisters, Casey Kearns and husband Jr. of, Hartville and Felicia Pittman and husband Coy, of St. Robert, Missouri; the mother of his children, Jessica Calton, of Grovespring, Missouri; his nieces and nephews, R.J. Garson, Dagan Pittman, Kylee Jones, Brianna Bender, Athena Pittman; numerous aunts and uncles, as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
Joey was born in Springfield and attended Hartville High School, where he excelled in band, basketball, and baseball. Joey worked as a farmer and had always dreamed of moving to Montana and going to work on a ranch out there. His faithful canine companion blue was always by his side.
Joey had accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and attended the Hartville First Assembly of God Church for many years. He was always quick to help anyone who needed it, and even in his passing, he was able to help with the donation of his organs.
In his spare time, Joey enjoyed coon and deer hunting, fishing, riding horses, restoring antiques, and spending time with his children, family, and friends.
Joey was a loving father, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
