John Michael Kuhn, Jr., son of John M. Kuhn, Sr. and Pauline E. Krudwig Kuhn, was born September 13, 1939, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, January 27, 2010, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy years, four months, and fourteen days. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Lexie Kuhn. John is survived by two brothers, William D. Kuhn, and his wife, Mary, and Joseph Kuhn, and his wife, Janet, all of Springfield, Missouri; a sister, Mary Jemes, and her husband, Richard, of Morgan, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; two uncles, Adolph Gramlich, of Liberty, Missouri, and Robert Kuhn, and his wife, Francis, of Blythewood, South Carolina; an aunt, Margaret Hale, of Norfolk, Nebraska; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Lebanon, Missouri, and graduated from Lebanon High School. John worked with his father in the construction business for several years before moving to Springfield. For twenty-five years he worked for the Zenith Corporation. John was raised in St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Lebanon and then became a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Springfield. His main hobby was trains and anything to do with trains. He enjoyed collecting trains and watching travel videos, especially if the mode of transportation was by train. He had traveled across the country by train, but was most comfortable in the Lebanon and Springfield area. He also liked dining out and spending time with his family. John was a loving brother, uncle, and nephew, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday February 1, 2010 at St Francis De Sales Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Calvary (Catholic) Cemetery. A rosary will be held Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. with a visitation to follow at the funeral home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri.
