John Blackburn (Lebanon)'s Obituary
John Clinton Edward Blackburn, son of Dewey Floyd and Bonnie Lou Devore Blackburn, was born September 23, 1954, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-eight years, six months, and seventeen days.
On May 6, 1990, he was united in marriage to Stephanie Lee Cady Kuhn, and they shared the last twenty-two years.
His parents preceded him in death.
John is survived by his wife, Stephanie, of the home; three stepsons, Jody Kuhn, and his wife, Trish, Jeff Kuhn, and Jason Kuhn, all of Lebanon, Missouri; three stepdaughters, Christine Smith, and her husband, Frank, Tracy Rogers, and her husband, Chris, and Cindy Keeney, and her husband, Jackie, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of step-grandchildren; two brothers, Randy Blackburn, and his wife, Julia, of Buffalo, Missouri, and Richard Blackburn, and his wife, Paula, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Brenda Ashford, and her husband, Randy, of Mound City, Missouri, Kay Devine, and Jo Donna Young, both of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area. He worked for Independent Stave Mill for a few years, and then worked as a horse trainer for a number of years. After he and Stephanie were married, they made their home in Lebanon, Missouri.
In his spare time John enjoyed being outdoors, where his favorite activities were riding horses and fishing. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
