John C. Carter (Lebanon)'s Obituary
John Carnes Carter, age seventy-eight of Richland, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 in his home. He was born February 8, 1945 in Tampa, Florida.
He was raised in Tampa and graduated from high school there. Following graduation, John joined the United States Navy where he faithfully served his country. He served as a Sonar Technician and achieved the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. After retiring from the Navy, John worked in civil service.
In September, 1974, John was united in marriage to Donna. They shared many happy years together and enjoyed traveling the country from 1998 – 2011.
Donna preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Stasha Faria.
John is survived by his brother-in-law, Bob Bates and his wife, Robin; his step-daughter, Rhonda Kozak; his granddaughter, Erin Kozak; and four great-grandchildren, Dakota, Allana, Lilly and Serenity.
John was a big supporter of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and had a big appreciation for trains. He collected trains of all kinds and enjoyed going to model train shows.
John was a loyal and devoted man. He loved his family and his friends and always had a good story to tell. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
