John Foster's Obituary
Mr. John Edward Foster, age 67 of Hermitage, MO and formerly of Pittsburg, MO passed away at 2:35 PM Friday at his home after a lingering illness. He was born on February 9, 1941 in Deepwater, MO the son of Claude Edward Foster and Hazel Louellen Ruth. He was united in marriage to Linda S. Kaufman on August 22, 1959 in Kansas City, MO and to this union 7 children were born. John was involved in many organizations including a lifetime member of the V.F.W. at Lexington, MO; the American Legion at Richmond, MO; the Sedalia Shriners Club; a Scottish Rite and 32nd Degree Mason in Kansas City, MO; and the Blue Lodge in Camden, MO. He was also a member of the Church Of The Nazarene in Deepwater, MO and a retired Brick Mason. He was a U. S. Army Veteran during Viet Nam. John was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Deborah K. Foster, two sisters, Bette Pickering and Brenda Toothman, and a brother James E. Foster. Surviving is his wife Linda S. (Kaufman) Foster of the home, Three daughters, Sherri C. McAdams of Excelsior Springs, MO; Lisa M. Foster of Hermitage, MO; and Linda O. Henderson of Orick, MO. Three sons, John R. Foster of Cameron, MO; Donald E. Foster and Michael W. Foster both of Hermitage, MO. Two sisters, Carmeleta Dugger of Harlingen, TX; and Linda Goens of Pleasant Valley, MO. Three brothers, Claude W. Foster of Lawson, MO; Charles W. Foster of Independence, MO; and Donald L. Foster of Lansing, KS. 12 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, November 10, in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain James O. Friend officiating. Masonic services will be by the Bolivar Lodge # 195 A.F. & A.M at the conclusion of the funeral service. Inurnment will be Monday morning, November 17, 2008 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO with Military Honors by the AMVETS Post #114 of Flemington, MO.
