John Geraughty's Obituary
John Thomas Geraughty, son of James Emmett and Beulah Irene Iles Geraughty, was born May 4, 1920 in Lexington, Missouri. He passed away, February 14, 2007 in Florissant, Colorado at the age of eighty-six years, nine months and ten days. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Richard Daniel Geraughty; his brother, James Emmett Geraughty, Jr. and three wives, Frances Agnes (Polson), Charlotte Louise “Shirley” (Holding) and Delores Lajune “June” (Spackman/McQuillan). He is survived by two sons, John Thomas Geraughty Jr. and wife JoAnn of Groveton, Texas and Brent Lee Geraughty and wife Cindra of Florissant, Colorado; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sisters, Elizabeth Finch and Jean Landrum, both of Independence, Missouri, a stepbrother, Robert Hankins and wife Bonnie of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and a sister-in-law, Joyce Geraughty of Waverly, Missouri. John is a native to Missouri, being born in Lexington, Missouri, lived in Kansas City until 1973 and then moved to Camdenton, Missouri, where he lived until 1995. From 1995 until 2005 he resided in Clearwater, Kansas and then traveled in his RV between his son's homes until the last seven months when he resided at his son's house in Colorado. John was a member of the Clearwater Kansas United Methodist Church, several camping and RV clubs, billiard and bowling leagues and boating and fishing clubs. In his spare time he enjoyed camping, woodworking, fishing, golfing, billiards, card playing and dominoes. John was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2007, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the Machpelah Cemetery, Lexington, Missouri. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Memorials to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or Prospect Hospice of Woodland Park, Colorado, may be made through the funeral home.
