John Hamrick's Obituary
John Wesley Hamrick, son of J.D. and Idell Beagles Hamrick, was born July 23, 1939 in Westville, Florida. He departed this life Tuesday, August 12, 2008 in Hartville, Missouri at the age of sixty-nine years and nineteen days. On April 7, 1959, John was united in marriage to Mary Lee Coday and to this union two children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Randy Joe Hamrick, on December 20, 1997; two sisters, Ernestine Peterson and Christine Hadley; and one brother, Edward Hamrick. John is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lee, of the home; his daughter, Sherrie Hake, and her husband, Pat, of Ozark, Missouri; four grandchildren, Nicholas Hamrick, Samuel Hamrick, Kayla Hamrick, and Miranda Hake; a step-granddaughter, Mandi Crites; two brothers, David Hamrick, of Pace, Florida, and Carlton Hamrick, of Forth Worth, Texas; four sisters, Mavis Reeves, Patsy Watson and her husband, Dennis, all of Jay, Florida, Linda Jackson and her husband, William, and Catherine Nelson and her husband Delmas, all of Pace, Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. John spent his younger years living in Florida. In July of 1958, he entered into the United States Army and would serve his country faithfully during the Vietnam War. After he and Mary Lee were married, they made their home together in the Hartville area where they lovingly raised their family. Upon being honorably discharged from the Army, John worked as a carpenter doing drywall and painting jobs in various locations throughout the area as well as an over-the-road truck driver. John was active in various organizations throughout his lifetime. He was currently serving as a Noble Grand in the Odd Fellows Lodge #226 in Hartville, a 32nd degree Free Mason in Lodge # 622 in Norwood; a member of the Elmer O. Sellers American Legion Post #45 and the Hartville VFW Post #3135, and was a past member of the Hartville Lions Club. John had professed his faith in Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age, and was attending Little Creek Baptist Church at the time of his death. John loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. He was a good provider for his wife and children, and enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to hunt and fish. Services will be at 10:30 am Thursday August 22, 2008 at the Little Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in Little Creek Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday evening from 7-8:30pm at the Little Creek Baptist Church with Masonic & Odd Fellows services under the direction of Holman- Howe Funeral Home Hartville,Missouri.
