John Hensley(Bolivar)'s Obituary
John Hensley, 59, of Halfway, Missouri died peacefully in his home on Tuesday September 26, 2017, after a long battle with cancer.
John was born September 1, 1958 in Clinton, Missouri to Jim and Alice Hensley.
At age 16, during a revival at Van, John fell under conviction, and sought the Lord for several nights. After realizing he could not work it out himself, he turned it over to the Lord and God gave him a know-so, heartfelt salvation.
Afterwards, he joined Walnut Ridge (Van) Missionary Baptist Church. He later joined Halfway Missionary Baptist Church, where his 3 oldest children, and his wife Brenda were saved. God later led him back to Van, where he remained a member. He was also blessed to have 2 more children saved, and several grandchildren.
John graduated from Halfway High School in 1976. His love of farming started at an early age. He operated Halfway Feed Company/Show-me Commodities and Hensley Dairy. He enjoyed many things in life, including his hobby of Observed Trials Motorcycling.
He is survived by his 6 children: Lonnie Hensley and wife Ashley, Bryan Hensley and wife Crystal, Lisa Grant and husband Jason, their mother Becky Swinney, James "Homer" Hensley, Katy Hensley, Sarah Hensley, and his beloved wife Brenda. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, brother Dale Hensley and wife Anita, sister Glenda Patterson, and a host of friends and church family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 30, 2017, at the Butler Funeral Home, in Bolivar, Missouri with Bros. Joe Sprague and Doyle Mayfield officiating.
Burial will take place after the funeral, and be at the Walnut Ridge Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
