John "Jack" Zaborsky (Lebanon)'s Obituary
John D. “Jack” Zaborsky was born December 30, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois to John G. Zaborsky and Helen A. Sterba Zaborsky. He passed away Friday, September 20, 2024 in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehab of Lebanon, Missouri. He was seventy years, eight months and twenty-one days of age.
Jack, as he was known by family and friends, was raised in Chicago and graduated from Catholic High School. While he was raised in the Catholic faith, in his later years he was baptized and had attended First Baptist Church in Lebanon.
Following high school, he began a career in drafting before establishing a career as a carpenter in the Chicago area. He also lived in Wisconsin for a time. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union and was well respected in his field. He worked on hundreds of projects, big and small, and found great satisfaction in looking over his finished project.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Thomas Zaborsky.
He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Hill and her husband Alex of Lebanon, Missouri; his son, David Zaborsky and his wife Stephanie of Arvada, Colorado; two grandchildren, Zane Zaborsky and Kyra Hill; his sister, Joan Benedict and her husband Jere of Salem, Wisconsin; a brother, Daniel Zaborsky and his wife Linda of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and other relatives and friends.
Jack loved taking fishing trips to Wisconsin. This was an event he looked forward to each year. He enjoyed playing golf with friends and snowmobiling in northern Wisconsin.
He retired to Lebanon in 2016 to be closer to his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Jack’s loss is deeply felt by his family and he will be so missed. Yet we know that he lives on in them, in their memories and in their love for each other.
