John T. Keele (Lebanon)'s Obituary
John Thaddeus Keele, son of Ernest and Noma F. Lindsey Keele, was born August 2, 1955, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, January 21, 2016, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty years, five months, and nineteen days.
Early in his life he was united in marriage to Bonnie Lee, who preceded her in death.
His parents also preceded him in death.
John is survived by two step-sons, Jackie Hill, and his wife, Suzie, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Paul Hill, and his wife, Bev, of Saline, Texas; a step-daughter, Judy Wolken, of Fordland, Missouri; three sisters, Frances Hilton, of Columbus, Ohio, Ernestine Harris, of Three Oaks, Michigan, and Evelyn Dixon, of Springfield, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and then entered the military as a young man. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army from October 8, 1974 until retiring on October 31, 1994. He was stationed in Germany and in Kuwait as part of the Desert Storm. He was awarded the Bronze Star along with several other medals and certificates for his twenty years of service. He and Bonnie made their home in Lebanon, Missouri, in 1979, and after John retired, he joined her. He worked as a security guard for the Copeland Corporation for several years.
In his spare time he enjoyed trout fishing and fishing in general. He was a very private man but greatly enjoyed his step children and step-grandchildren.
John was a devoted family man, a decorated soldier, a patriotic citizen and a good friend to many. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
