John Henry Knapp (Lebanon)'s Obituary
John Henry Knapp, son of Raymond and Rosemary Clark Knapp, was born April 9, 1957, in Tacoma, Washington. He departed this life Wednesday, May 1, 2019, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-two years, and twenty-two days.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Linda Atkinson.
John is survived by a son, Mike Rambo, of Conway, Missouri; his mother, Rosemary Knapp, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Roger Knapp, of Union, Missouri; five sisters, Rose Knapp, and Anna Knapp, both of Lebanon, Missouri, Mary Louise Ellsworth, of Republic, Missouri, Mary Jane Matthews, of the State of Texas, and Barbara Knapp, of Eureka, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; a special cousin that was like a son to John, Joshua Ellsworth, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was born in Washington, and then moved with his mother and siblings to Lebanon, Missouri, when he was a small child, after the death of his father. He attended Lebanon R-III Schools. He then worked for Independent Stave Company, now Missouri Cooperage, for twenty-two years. He later worked for Marine Electric for thirteen years.
John had attended Hillcrest Baptist Church as a child.
He enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing and archery. He also loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle when he was younger. He liked listening to Classic Rock and Roll, drinking Mountain Dew, and sometimes working on cars. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with his brother, sisters, nieces and nephews.
John was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and was a caring friend to many. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
