John Lightwine (Buffalo)'s Obituary
John Dudley Lightwine, age 76 of Buffalo, Missouri entered into rest on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at his home with his family by his side.
John was born on July 20, 1948, in Buffalo, Missouri to the late Henry and Faye (Nicholas) Lightwine. After high school, John served his country in the United States Army. John loved classic cars. He restored several cars and won awards at many car shows. His favorite was his cherry red 1966 El Camino, which he purchased when he returned from the service, and owned until his passing. He loved to work on vehicles, restore houses, and woodwork. He owned and operated a tractor sales and repair business. He bred and raised English Bulldogs. He loved to attend family gatherings.
John was preceded by his parents Henry and Faye Lightwine, and sister Teresa Smith. He is survived by his children, Scott Lightwine, Amy and Josh Dukewits, significant other Becky Conine, grandchildren Myla and Mason, stepchildren Zac Johnson and Bree Johnson-Jones, step grandchild Bradley Jones, sisters Alice Himelhan, Glenda Whipple and husband Keith, Rayma June Haynes. and beloved bulldog Sterling.
He will be missed by family, many friends, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services are scheduled for 10 am on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with burial to follow at Riverview Sweaney Cemetery. Visitation will be held the evening prior at the funeral home from 6-8 pm.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo.
