John G. Lyda (Buffalo)'s Obituary
John G. Lyda of Buffalo, Mo is peacefully resting in God’s hands October 9,2025. Survived by his wife Jeannine, son’s John M. Lyda and Joel Lyda of Roosevelt, Utah. Stepfather to Rodd Ziegler, Stephani and 9 step grandchildren, Jeannette Collier and step granddaughter; sister Joan Biggerstaff in Spokane, WA; brother David Lyda (deceased) nephews, nieces and friends. John was born in Cottonwood, Idaho raised by his parents, who met in England during WWII. John graduated from high school in 1965. After graduation he was called to serve in USN for our country. He served on two destroyers one USS O’Brien 1966 – 1970 as a Gunner’s Mate, being awarded Vietnam Service Medial with 4 Bronze Stars. Vietnams Campaign Medal National Defense Service Medal and Combat Action Ribbon. After USN service John went to Portland, Oregon for schooling in boot and shoe repair. He moved to Ronan, Montana and worked at a saddle maker shop where he then purchased the shop and called it J & P Saddle. He then moved to Roosevelt, Utah and had been a saddle maker for 50 years. John met Jeannine in 2019, retired from saddle making and made their home in Buffalo MO. John was an active member of Show Me Cowboy Church in Marshfield, Mo. Member of DAV & VFW. He enjoyed mostly his family, good old country music and GOD. John was also known as “Jabber Jaws” on the radio station in Roosevelt, Utah. John’s smile, persona and kindness will be remembered by all. John, we love you! Memorial Service will be Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 3:00 pm at the Show Me Cowboy Church, 8284 State Route 38, Marshfield, MO 65706. Meal provided by Church after service.
