John Lee Myers (Hartville)'s Obituary
John Lee Myers, son of Oscar Otto and Doris Marie Crocker Myers, was born November 30, 1943. He departed this life Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, two months, and four days.
On July 2, 1965, John was united in marriage to Wilma Jean Barr and together they shared thirty-five years until Wilma’s passing on December 20, 2000.
John was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son Darrell Myers of Hartville, Missouri; brother Skip Myers and wife Cyndi of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Rebecca Piercy and husband James of Eldridge, Missouri, and Judy Perry and husband Edward of Eldridge, Missouri; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
John was born in Lebanon and attended Lebanon High School. He proudly served his country in the National Guard from 1961 to 1967.
John had worked at BBM Lumber Yard and various jobs in maintenance and refrigeration throughout his life. He had worked at Detroit Tool Metal Products in Lebanon for many years until his retirement in 2006.
In his spare time, John enjoyed fishing, attending Eagle Days at the Lake of the Ozarks, and walking the many trails at Ha-Ha Tonka State Park in Camdenton.
John was a loving father, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
