John Schmid's Obituary
John Jacob Schmidt, age 85 of Bolivar, passed away at 3:10 AM Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar after a lingering illness. He was born on March 2, 1923 in Winterthur, Switzerland, the son of Henry Schmid and Rose Schindler. Mr. Schmid grew up in New York and retired as an Assistant Manager in the Banking Industry. He and Joan then moved to Buffalo, MO where they resided for 27 years, before moving to Bolivar 5 years ago. Surviving is Wife Joan Catherine (McHugh) Schmid of Bolivar; a Son, Roger Schmid and wife Barbara of Jefferson City, MO; a Daughter Susan Sullivan of Miller Place, New York. 3 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. At Mr. Schmid's request, no services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar.
