John A. Terry (Lebanon)'s Obituary
John Anthony “Tony” Terry was born March 4, 1966 in Mulberry Grove, Illinois to Gary D. and Pat Turasky Terry. He passed away in his home in Lebanon, Missouri Saturday, April 26, 2025. He was fifty-nine years, one month and twenty-two days of age.
Tony grew up in Mulberry Grove, Illinois and graduated from Mulberry Grove High School.
He attended Woburn Baptist Church when he was a child. He moved to Lebanon in 1993.
Tony is preceded in death by his father, Gary Terry and his Grandma Snow.
He is survived by his mother, Pat Terry of Greenville, Illinois; his son, Taylor Terry of Lebanon, Missouri; his significant other, Rebecca McDowell of Lebanon, Missouri; two step-daughters, Stephanie Shivers and Amber Jones, both of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Michael Terry and Duane Terry, both of Greenville, Illinois. He also had several dogs he was very fond of.
Tony worked as a bricklayer for a number of years. He was most recently employed by Mike Knudson doing landscaping work in the area.
He found joy in hunting and fishing. He also liked to grow flowers and being outside. He had a love for music of all kinds. He loved his dog Jack.
Tony liked to have a good time. He was loved by his children and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends very much.
We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening, May 1, from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral home.
Graveside service will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 at 1 p.m. in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Mulberry Grove, Illinois.
A memorial has been established to Carmi Baptist Children's Home and donations may be left at the funeral home.
