Johnny Martin Perryman's Obituary
Johnny Martin Perryman, son of Samuel and Elizabeth Hawk Perryman, was born December 12, 1915, near Conway, in Laclede County, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, October 8, 2007, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-one years, nine months, and twenty-six days. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter-in-law, Lola Perryman; three brothers, Henry, Bill, and Clyde Perryman; and a sister, Dorothy Carsten. Johnny is survived by his three sons, Martin Perryman, and his wife, Roselie, of Springfield, Missouri, Wayne Perryman, of Conway, Missouri, and Danny Perryman, of Aurora, Missouri; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Perryman, and his wife, Vera, and Clifford Perryman, all of Springfield, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Laclede County, Missouri. He chose farming, not only as his an occupation, but also as a way of life. He had a love of Jersey cows and milked in a station type barn until he felt it was time to retire. Johnny also loved Paint Horses and owned and trained two named, Beauty and Mare. Throughout the years, he would harness Beauty and they would not only plow his garden, but many of the gardens in the Conway area. Johnny made his profession of belief in Christ and was baptized into the Baptist faith early in his life. He enjoyed training his horses in his spare time and they would respond well to his commands. He also liked working in his garden and loved life on the farm. Johnny, who was known to his family simply as “Gramps”, was well known around the Conway area. He was not only a farmer, but a pillar of strength to his sons, grandsons, and great-grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2007, in the Graceland Cemetery, Conway, Missouri. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Memorials may be made through the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
