Jolene Waller's Obituary
Jolene Claire (Smith) Waller, daughter of Eugene and Leta (Teeter) Smith was born August 10, 1934 in Bridge Port, Texas. She departed this life Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at the age of seventy-seven years, ten months and 3 days, in Webco Manor of Marshfield, Missouri.
Jolene traveled across the country with her family throughout her childhood following her father’s employment with the railroad. In 1955, Jolene graduated high school in Minco, Oklahoma. After graduating she became a long-distance telephone operator for Bell Telephone.
On July 23, 1955 she was united in marriage to Charles Eugene Waller in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and to this union one son was born. Being a soldier’s wife, Jolene faithful followed Charles to Germany. After his discharge the young couple started their family in Oklahoma and then moved to Dallas, Texas. Later, they settled in the Seymour area, were they have lived and have been a part of the community for the past thirty years.
Jolene professed her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early in her life and faithfully served him. The couple attended Seymour Methodist Church and became members of the Diggins Baptist Church. She held fast to her faith in the good and bad times, and leaves behind a legacy of love for her family, friends and neighbors.
Jolene enjoyed the blessings God gave her, and found favor in her devotion to her family. She loved to garden, and took time and care to watch her flowers grow. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club, making ceramics and sewing crafts to show for the fair. She was preceded in death by her parents. Jolene is survived by her loving husband Charles Waller, of the home; her son Gary Waller of the state of Washington, her four grandchildren Reba Jolene Rodamo and husband Daniel of Houston, Texas, Tia Winona of the state of Washington, Cody Waller and wife Vicary of the state of Texas, and Dakota Waller of the state of Washington; and her brother Darrell Smith and wife Dee of Irving, Texas. Jolene Claire Waller was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and we will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends.
Services for Jolene C. Waller will be held Monday, June 18, 2012 at 11a.m. in the Seymour Holman Howe Chapel. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be from 4-5:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, June 17, 2012 in the Funeral Home. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers a memorial donation be made to the Diggins Baptist Church Building Fund or the Seymour Senior Citizens in care of HOLMAN HOWE FUNERAL HOMES P.O. BOX 366, SEYMOUR, MO 65746.
