Jon William Mitchell (Seymour)'s Obituary
Jon William Mitchell, much adored husband, father, son, brother, uncle and nephew, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly surrounded by his family in the late evening hours of Monday, January 18, 2016, in his home in Seymour, Missouri. Jon was forty years, four months and seventeen days young at the time of his passing.
One of two children, Jon was born on September 2, 1975, in Springfield, Missouri, to William and Janet (Henry) Mitchell. He was a graduate of the Seymour High School Class of 1993. On February 14, 1997, he married his best friend and love of his life, Lisa Beth Randolph, and to this union two daughters and a son were born. Jon was a Christian man, saved and baptized at a young age, and a member of Diggins Baptist Church. For fifteen dedicated years, he was a well-liked and often requested server at Red Lobster Restaurant in Springfield. Jon also worked at Reliable Chevrolet for two years, and most recently was employed the past two years at Slumberland Furniture, a job he truly enjoyed. Jon was a committed family man whose favorite role was ‘Dad’ and spending time with his family. Jon was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his mother-in-law, Rebecca (Rittershouse) Randolph. Jon leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of nearly nineteen years, Lisa Mitchell; their children, Alyssa Don, Zachary William and Carly Jade Mitchell, all of the home; his ever-loving and supportive parents, Bill and Janet Mitchell of Seymour; loyal brother, James Mitchell and wife, Theresa, of Seymour; nieces, Kaydence and Lola, and nephews, Kevin, Riley and Jace, all of Seymour; two brothers-in-law, Josh Randolph and wife, Nicole Massoth-Randolph, and Seth Randolph, all of Springfield; father-in-law, Don Randolph of Springfield; Jon’s very special cousin, Carleen Ellen Rhodes of Springfield; best friends, Dave Telensio and Travis Mays; plus a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, present and past co-workers, and many more dear friends. Jon set an example for his family by living a life of hard work and dedication to his wife and children. He was always willing to help those that asked. Jon was a deeply devoted father, husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Jon will be sadly missed by his family and those fortunate enough to have known him as a friend.
Memorials may be made to The Mitchell Family and left at the funeral home or at Seymour Bank.
Jon was cremated in January after funeral services, and will be Laid to Rest with Graveside Memorial Services on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 1:00PM, at Seymour Masonic Cemetery in Seymour, Missouri. Family and Friends are welcome.
