Joni and I met when she lived in Bowie, Maryland. We became fast friends. We had a wonderful friendship and a special bond that lasted over 48 years. When we couldn’t be together in person, we spent hours on the phone. We told each other everything. She would often bring up how much she missed our long walks, pushing Heather in her stroller, just talking about anything and everything. We helped each other through good times and bad. Our friendship never wavered. She was a sister, a friend, and a beautiful person. I was so blessed to have had this wonderful woman in my life.
Joni, I will always love you. Someday we will walk together again. Until then, you are forever in my heart.
Her mothers name was Virginia Jane, she was totally adored by her mother who she was also very close to. Joni was a true lover of horses and could jump on a horse and tame it within a very short amount of time. She also adored dogs and breed many wonderful dogs of which she shared several with me. My wonderful Pomeranian named Foxie was the most perfect dog anyone could ever hope for.
Her gentle sound will be missed by me and her nephews, especially Derek who adored her and shared kindred souls.
