Joseph Wayne Williams (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Joseph Wayne Williams, son of Burvel Gene and LeEtta Jolene Ruble Williams, was born November 28, 1959, in Lebanon, Missouri.  He departed this life Friday, December 27, 2013, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty-four years, and twenty-nine days.
On August 24, 1979, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Ann “Becky” Lillard, and to this union one son was born.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Tony Williams; a niece, Shayla Ward; and his father-in-law, Don Lillard.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of thirty-four years, Becky, of the home; a son, Joseph Lane Williams, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; a grandson, Mason; a granddaughter, Memphis; his mother, LeEtta Williams, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; a brother, B. J. Williams, and his wife, Christi, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; a sister, Tina Ward, and her husband, Dwayne, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Janet Williams, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area, and then lived in Iowa for ten years.  He and Becky made their home near Lebanon, Missouri, and lovingly raised their son.  Joe was employed by the City of Lebanon Street Department for twenty-nine years.
Joe was raised in the Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church and made his profession of faith in Christ early in his life.  He had attended North Five Freewill Baptist Church, and recently had been attending Bear Thicket Church.
He loved music and enjoyed playing drums in several local groups, most recently playing with Throwback Country.  He particularly liked gospel music which he enjoyed singing.  He liked being outdoors where his favorite activity was fishing.  He always planted a garden each year and liked canning his homegrown vegetables.  He had made many good friends through his work and liked doing things with his work buddies.  His family was always the most important part of his life and he especially enjoyed having time with his son and grandchildren.
Joe was a loving husband, father, Papa, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend.  We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A memorial to the Crossroads Cemetery has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home
