Joshua Alan Leighton (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Joshua Alan Leighton, son of Tom and Teresa Blain Leighton, was born March 27, 1977, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, December 9, 2012, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of thirty-five years, eight months, and twelve days.
On March 4, 2012, he was united in marriage to Kimberly J. Jackson, and they shared the last nine months.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and a brother, Eric Ellis.
Joshua is survived by his wife, Kim, of the home; two daughters, Aryes Leighton, of Conway, Missouri, and Jayda McKee, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Eric Leighton, and Jonathan Davis, both of Lebanon, Missouri; his father, Tom Leighton, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Tommy Leighton, of Lebanon, Missouri; his maternal grandmother, Vernia Chastain Rizzo, of Lebanon, Missouri; several aunts and uncles; many cousins, including one who was like a sister to Joshua, Jessica Blain Myers, & her husband, Allen; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area, and attended Lebanon High School. He then made his home in Springfield, Missouri for a time and had attended Everest College, where he was studying to be a computer technician.
Joshua had attended Community Baptist Church near Lebanon, Missouri.
He liked music and was also very artistic. He enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were camping, canoeing, and spending time on the river. He enjoyed life and especially liked having time with his family.
Joshua was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandson, and nephew, and was caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
