Joy Anne Woods' Obituary
Joy Anne Woods, age 81 of Halfway, MO, died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at her daughter’s home where she had been living. She was born on June 7, 1928 in Hyannis, Nebraska, the daughter of Chloe E. Keller and Lola (Ridgeway) Keller. Joy worked as a medical transcriptionist for 58 years. She worked at Citizens Memorial Hospital the day the hospital opened. After moving to Arizona for 10 years, she returned to Bolivar and worked for CMH until her retirement on Sept. 1, 2009. She was preceded in death by her father Chloe in 1944, her mother Lola in 1987 and one brother, Clifford Keller. Surviving is her two sons, Ronald Dougherty and wife Marianne of El Cajon, CA; Michael Dougherty and wife Dequitta of Ramona, CA; three daughters, Peggy Petersen and husband Eric ‘Tom’ of Halfway, MO; Cathy Stokes and husband Wayne of Bolivar, MO; and Barbara Franklin and husband Bob of Humansville, MO; Also Nine grandchildren, Trina Albright, Ron Dougherty, Shana Dougherty, Brian Petersen, Erin Kirby, Dana Haskins, Jessica Maull, DeAnne Casterjon and Matthew Dougherty. Nine great grandchildren, Joseph Albright, Sean Kirby, Jayson Petersen, Julee Petersen, Ashley Haskins, Andrew Haskins, Dillon Haskins, Alex Casterjon and Michael Dougherty. She also has three sisters, Delores Jones and husband Jerry of Willard, MO; Opal Blackington of Springfield, MO; and Helen King of Scott City, MO. One brother Bill Keller of Fruita, CO. Also several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 29, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. Memorial Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery south of Springfield, MO with burial under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar.
