Joyce Cleone Blackwell (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Joyce Cleone Blackwell, daughter of John Davis and Prudence Stenson Wilson, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Marshfield Care Center in Marshfield, MO at the age of seventy-seven years, three months, and nine days.
Joyce was born on September 29, 1945 in Long Beach, California, and moved to the Lebanon area in 1962 at the age of 17. Joyce worked for many years as a hairdresser in the area, while also serving as a deli associate at Wal-Mart and a self-service gas attendant at B&D truck stop.
Joyce wore many hats and held various jobs, but her favorite was grandma. More than anything, she loved to watch her grandchildren play sports.
In her spare time, Joyce enjoyed travelling, especially on cruise ships in the Caribbean and traveling to Alaska. She also loved riding horses, and spending time riding along in the truck with the love of her life, Max Griffin.
Joyce is survived by two daughters; Becky Blackwell and Cherie McGinnis, both of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Josh Smith and wife Nicole, Eric Rogers and wife Megan, Travis Rogers and wife Kimberly, all of Lebanon, Missouri, Aaron Kurek of Springfield, Missouri, and Amanda Starnes of Lebanon, Missouri; 11great grandchildren; two sisters, Lavonna Jones and Sally Crossland; and one brother, Richard Wilson.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Max Griffin; her parents; a grandson, Tyler Moad; and a brother, John Davis "Butch" Wilson.
Joyce was a loving, caring person and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
A memorial graveside service will be held for Joyce on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at White Oak Pond Cemetery in Lebanon, MO.
