Joyce Dill (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Joyce Laverne Dill, daughter of Jack and Tilley Elliott Henry, was born November 5, 1952, in Gainesville, Texas. She departed this life Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty years, four months, and fourteen days.
Early in her life she was united in marriage to Steve Johnson, and to this union two sons and one daughter were born.
On March 20, 1983, she was united in marriage to Don W. Dill, and they shared the last twenty-nine years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ryan Johnson; and a sister, Jackie Sparks.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Don, of the home; a son, Jay Johnson, and his wife, Anna, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three daughters, Lori Brown, and her husband, Eric, of Lebanon, Missouri, Andrea Epperson, of Poplar Bluff, and Terrie Lynn Sullens, and her husband, Dale, of Eldon, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Julian, Erica, Nicole, Nathan, Ryan, Christopher, Branden, and Hannah; a great-grandchild, Bradlee; a brother, Mike Henry, and his wife, Lynda, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a brother-in-law, Ricky Burrow, of Eldon, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Debbie Alexander, of Eldon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Madill, Oklahoma, and graduated from Moore High School, in Moore, Oklahoma. She made her home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for several years, and worked as a bookkeeper for the Johnson and Johnson Company, as well as being a devoted homemaker to her family. Later, Joyce and Don worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections for several years. She and Don retired four years ago, and moved to Lebanon, Missouri. She and Don were blessed to have their granddaughter, Erica, in their home for her first year, and Nana would stop whatever she was doing to play with Erica for hours on end.
Joyce was a God loving woman and always turned to God when difficult times came her way. After the passing of her son, Ryan, she thanked God for the children she had left to raise.
She had a wonderful personality and people liked spending time with her. Her stories were hilarious and her energy contagious. She had a very positive outlook and it never rained on her parade. She had a fantastic smile, a dance style that could part the floor, and a quick wit that kept her family and friends on their toes.
Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends.
