Joyce Gregory's Obituary
Joyce Ann Gregory, daughter of Buster and Berniece Jones Yost, was born July 6, 1941, in Kansas City, Kansas. She departed this life Monday, December 21, 2009, in her home, near Eldridge, Missouri, at the age of sixty-eight years, five months, and fifteen days. On October 27, 1962, she was united in marriage to Milan S. Gregory and they shared the last forty-seven years. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Yost. Joyce is survived by her husband, Milan, of the home; two sons, Charles Ricky Anderson, and his wife, Jodie, and Stanley Gregory, and his wife, Carrie, of Eldridge, Missouri, of Eldridge, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Patrick, Mark, Mike, Jessica, Kristy, Curtis, Shannon, Ashley, and Jennifer; two great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Chyanna; a brother, Gerald Yost, of Olathe, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Kansas City, Kansas area and graduated from high school there. After she and Milan were married, they continued to make their home in Kansas City until moving to Eldridge in 1971. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Joyce also worked for the H. D. Lee Company for twenty years, retiring when the Lebanon factory closed. Joyce made her profession of belief in Christ and was baptized in the early 1980’s, and followed the Baptist faith. She liked being outdoors where her favorite activities were fishing, camping, and working in her garden. She also enjoyed raising chickens for as long as her health allowed. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family will treasure the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday December 24, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. Burial will be in the Hufft Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday 6-7:30 p.m. under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established to St. John's Hospice or to the Hufft Cemetery care fund.
