Joyce Hitsman (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Alma Joyce Hitsman, daughter of Oscar and Edna Lucille Talbert Tillman, was born February 21, 1940, in Cordell, Oklahoma. She departed this life Friday, July 27, 2018, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, five months, and six days.
On July 12, 1991, she was united in marriage to David Hitsman, who preceded her in death in 2006.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Motley; and two brothers, Bobby and Richard Tillman.
Joyce is survived by three daughters, Carla Thomas, Jacquelyn Baldock, and Sandra Backe, all of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Gary Duncan, of San Diego, California, and Kenneth A. Motley, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Crow, of San Diego, California, and Sandra Talbert, of the State of Texas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Oklahoma and then married early in her life. She enjoyed having a large family and was a devoted homemaker through the years. She had lived in Texas and in various locations in California. In the late 1980’s she moved to Missouri and made her home in Lebanon.
She liked taking care of her family and enjoyed fishing early in her life. She liked gardening and particularly growing vegetables, and enjoyed playing on the computer. She loved animals and had several pets throughout the years. Her family was very dear to her and she enjoyed having time with them.
Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
