Joyce Kerns (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Joyce Evelyn Kerns, daughter of Albert E. and Dorothy Crawford Davison, was born October 9, 1943, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She departed this life Tuesday, August 2, 2022, in her home, near Falcon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, nine months, and twenty-three days.
On June 11, 1960, she was united in marriage to Samuel D. Kerns, and to this union three daughters and five sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel, on November 13, 1995; a son, Michael Kerns; and two grandsons, Harlen Ruppert and Bryan Kerns.
Joyce is survived by three daughters, Sharon Kerns, Joyce Kerns, and Debbie Kerns, and her significant other, Hayden Davis, all of Falcon, Missouri; four sons, Robert Kerns, of Falcon, Missouri, Nick Kerns, and his significant other, Karen Morris, of Jackson, New Jersey, Samuel D. Kerns, Jr., and his wife, Amanda, and Johnny Kerns, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a special granddaughter, Wendy Beesley, of Falcon, Missouri; two special grandsons, Samuel R. Kerns, and Richard Kerns, both of Lebanon, Missouri; five additional grandchildren, Keith, Raven, Lincoln, Alexis, and Nicholas; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She lived her early years in New Jersey and Virginia then moved to Missouri with her husband and family in the late 1980’s. She had worked as a waitress in New Jersey along with being a devoted homemaker, and then continued as a homemaker after having moved to Missouri.
Joyce was a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints wherever she lived.
She enjoyed collecting bears, and liked bowling. She had a fondness for horses and greatly enjoyed horseback riding. She loved her family dearly and kept her family at the center of her life.
Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories she made with them during her lifetime.
Funeral services for Joyce Kerns will be Thursday, Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, Aug. 10, from 5 - 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Lonesome Hill Cemetery.
A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
