Joyce M. Kingery (Seymour)'s Obituary
Joyce Marie Kingery, daughter of Clifford E. D. Stuckey and Ellen M. Fowler Stuckey, was born May 8, 1935 in Mount Pleasant, Iowa and departed this life on July 22, 2020 at Glenwood Healthcare Center in Seymour, Missouri at the age of eighty-five years, two months, and fourteen days.
On May 13, 1953 she was united in marriage to Robert David Kingery and to this union five children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, daughter, Janet Marie Clark, and a grandson, Danny Dean Sheppard.
Joyce is survived by three sons, Randy David Kingery and wife, Amanda, of Seymour, Robert Dale Kingery and wife, Lawanna, of Seymour, and Rex Dwayne Kingery and wife, Pam, of Bowling Green, Missouri; daughter, Joyce Marie Sawyers and husband, Verdon, of Hartville; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
She was born in Iowa and moved with her parents to Seymour in the early 1940’s. She graduated from Seymour High School in the Class of 1953. Joyce was a devoted wife and homemaker and had also worked at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory in Mansfield and was a cook at the Seymour Schools.
Joyce had made a profession of faith in Christ many years ago and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church near Hartville.
She was a great cook and enjoyed reading, watching Westerns and soap operas and was affectionally known as “The Boss”.
Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will always cherish the many great times we had with her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 25 at 1:00 p.m. in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Chapel in Seymour. Visitation will be Friday, July 24 from 7 - 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery in Seymour.
Arrangements are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour.
