Joyce Sparbel's Obituary
Joyce Jean Sparbel, daughter of Kenneth Clarence and Sharon (Elwood) Crain, was born March 10, 1963 in Iowa City, Iowa. She departed this life June 25, 2009, in Manor Care in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of forty-six years, three months, and fifteen days. On July 10, 1982 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Lavern Sparbel, Jr. and together they lovingly shared the last twenty-seven years. She was preceded in death by her father. Joyce is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of the home; three children, April, of Kansas City, Missouri, Tamara Carter, of Centerville, Iowa, and Kenzie Sparbel, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; one grandson, Caleb; her mother, Sharon Crain, of Davenport, Iowa; three brothers, Kevin Crain, Keith Crain, and Kelly Clark, all of Davenport, Iowa; a sister, J.J. Crain of Davenport, Iowa; her mother-in-law, Wilma Hicks, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; three sisters-in-law, Rachel Kelley, of Norwood, Missouri, Bobbi McGee, of Houston, Missouri, and Marcy Massey, of Dora, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Iowa and spent all of her childhood in the Davenport area. After she met and married Kenneth they remained in Iowa until six years ago when they moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri. She had worked many years as a sales representative for Avon. She centered her life on her family and loved caring for her children. In her spare time she enjoyed working on puzzle books. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Graveside services & burial will be held on Monday June 29, 2009 in Green Mountain Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening 2-4:00 pmunder the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Hartville, Missouri. Return to top
