Juanita Davis (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Juanita Vasquez Davis was born June 24, 1927, in La Ceiba, Honduras. She departed this life Saturday, September 12, 2020, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of ninety-three years, two months, and nineteen days.
On March 9, 1953, she was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Marion Davis.
Juanita is survived by a daughter, Mary Stacy, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sons, Glen Davis, and his wife, Pam, of Cairo, Georgia, Richard Davis, of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Carl Davis, of Dallas, Texas; two grandsons, Robert Stacy, and his wife, Morgan, and James Stacy, and his wife Misty, all of Eugene, Oregon; seven great-grandchildren, Ayla, Noah, Isaac, Harrison, Talton, Wyatt, and Aria; two step-grandchildren, Sherrie and Donald; a number of step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Honduras, and then immigrated to the United States in her early twenties, where she met her future husband. After she and Bob were married, they made their home in various locations throughout the years that Bob served in the military. Juanita was a devoted and supportive wife and homemaker and was a loving mother to their children. When Bob retired from the Air Force, they made their home on their family farm near Lebanon. Juanita also worked as a cook in the Lebanon High School for several years, and would occasionally speak to the Spanish classes. She was very proud of becoming a Naturalized American Citizen.
Juanita was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lebanon.
Juanita was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at their convenience. Graveside services will be Friday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. at Mount Rose Memorial Park in Lebanon.
Funeral services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
