Juanita Hicks (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Juanita Hicks, better known as “Granny” to everyone who knew her, was born September 22, 1923, near Conway, Missouri, to Everett and Mary Lewis Green. She departed this life November 20, 2018 at the age of ninety-five years, one month, and twenty-nine days.
On February 26, 1943, she was united in marriage to Earl Hicks, and to this union three sons and four daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: a infant son, Everett Lavern Hicks; one sister, Pauline Shore of Lebanon; two brothers, Lee Green of Grovespring and Bill Green of Springfield; two daughters, Joan Riddell of Grain Valley, Missouri and Carol Jacobsen of Kansas City, Missouri.
Juanita is survived by two daughters, Sue Medling , and her husband, Don, of Laveen, Arizona; Connie Miller and her husband, Kerry of Phillipsburg, Missouri; and two sons, Robert Hicks and Larry Hicks, both of Conway, Missouri; five grandsons; Steven, Kevin, Larry Wayne, Robin and Jason; three granddaughters, Katie, Christi and Jodie; nine great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; her Lebanon North Care Center family; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Conway area. Shortly after she and Earl were married, they made their home near Morgan, Missouri and lovingly raised their family. She was a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and was a longtime member of the Morgan Baptist Church.
For over 50 years she and Earl owned and operated the Hicks Hill Dairy Farm where they stayed very busy. Juanita was known as “the mole killer” and would stay quietly beside a tree until she saw evidence of a mole nearby and pop it on the head. She also despised Dandelions and did her best to eliminate those in her yard.
She enjoyed taking care of her family and cooking. While doing laundry and ironing are not usually enjoyed by most, Juanita dearly loved these chores!
Juanita was a very loving and caring person to her family and church family. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
