Juanita Parker's Obituary
Juanita Faye Parker, daughter of Everett R. and Sarah Sturgeon Coble, was born October 21, 1909, near Ava, Missouri. She departed this life on December 3, 2008, in Rocky Ridge Manor, Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of ninety-nine years, one month and 12 days. On December 12, 1931, she was united in marriage to Edward Parker and to this union one son was born. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, on December 16, 1998, and their son, Carl Edward Parker, on August 25, 1952. Her parents, a sister, Valora Young, and two nephews, William Young and Joseph Young, also preceded her in death. Juanita is survived by several great-nieces and great- nephews as well as William’s widow, Mollie Young, of Riverside, California, and a sister-in-law; Jessie Calhoun, of Springfield, Missouri. She was raised between Ava and Mansfield and was a graduate of Mansfield High School in the Class of 1927. After she and Ed were married they made their home in the Mansfield area. Juanita made her profession of faith in Christ at an early age and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Mansfield. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, PEO, Mansfield Lions Club, and Board Member Emeritus and founding member of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home and Museum Board of Directors. In her spare time she enjoyed needlework, cooking and baking. Juanita was a kind and caring person who will be dearly missed. She was a loving aunt, great-aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories she has made for her family and friends. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday December 8, 2008 at Mansfield First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Mansfield cemetery.
