Juanita L. Pearson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Juanita Louise Pearson, daughter of Luther Melvin and Catherine Marie Dilli Barber, was born April 1, 1927, near Versailles, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, June 16, 2013, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, two months, and fifteen days.
On May 5, 1962, she was united in marriage to Herbert Douglas “Pete” Pearson, and they shared almost forty years before his passing on March 3, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Diana D. Spires; four brothers, Melvin, Bill, Donald, and Roy Barber; and three sisters, Wilma Taylor, Vera Bonine, and Tillie Cowan.
Juanita is survived by a daughter, Barbara G. Ramsdell, of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Dwayne Spires, and his wife, Lisa, Dawn Sarsten, and her husband, Ron, Derek Spires, and his wife, Nora, and Katherine Westphal, and her husband, Derek; a special granddaughter, Porsha Webster, of Lebanon, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren, Kathleen, Sydney, Noah, Elijah, Sophia, Junior, Aidenn, and Caleb; a sister, Arletta Erickson, of Casper, Wyoming; a number of nieces and nephews; special friends, Linda and Paul Eidson, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Versailles, Missouri community, and then graduated from Climax Springs High School. She made her home in Corpus Christi, Texas for eleven years, where Juanita was a devoted homemaker to her family. She also worked as a sales clerk at the J. C. Penney Store for a time. After she and Pete were married, they lived in California for several years, and Juanita worked in the naval commissary for awhile. The family moved to Springdale, Arkansas in 1973, and then to Lebanon, Missouri in 2000.
Juanita had professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Heritage Baptist Temple in Lebanon. She enjoyed attending Sunday school and services for as long as her health allowed.
In her spare time she enjoyed growing beautiful flowers, or as she called it, “playing in the dirt”. She also loved bird watching, fishing, and traveling. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Juanita was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
Visitation will immediately follow the service.
