Judith Colliver's Obituary
Judith Kay Colliver, daughter of Jewell and Reva Jacobs Shipley, was born October 22, 1939 in Avalon, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, August 14, 2006, surrounded by her family in her home in Camdenton, Missouri at the age of sixty-six years, nine months and twenty-three days. On August 3, 1956, she was united in marriage to Glendon Wayne Colliver, and to this union one son and two daughters were born. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1995.She was also preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Kenneth Wayne Colliver and Michael Wayne Shoults; a sister, Patty Shipley and a brother, Richard Shipley. Judy is survived by three children, Glenn Dale Colliver and his wife Sonya, Lynne Gail Stewart and husband Don and Connie Sue Mills and husband Rocky all of Camdenton, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Barbara Tresvina of Wilcox, Arizona, Marilyn Schults of Cleveland, Mississippi, Shirley Stringer of Hillsboro, Missouri, and Linda Skinner of Florissant, Missouri; four brothers, Jackie Shipley of Haymarket, Virginia, Chan Lowe and wife Jackie of Grove Springs, Missouri, Ron Shipley of St. Louis, Missouri and Larry Shipley of Washington, Missouri; and aunt, Corrine Rosenberger of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; an uncle, Richard Jacobs and wife Bonnie of Hale, Missouri and a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised in the Chillicothe and Hale areas of Missouri and attended school in Hale. After school she was married and became her husbands life-long help mate. They worked side by side on the family farm in Hale, Missouri until they moved to the Lake of the Ozarks area in 1977 when they began Lake Propeller Service. It was originally located on the water and later moved to its current location on North Hwy 5. She did most of the welding herself as well as customer service and bookkeeping.Judy was a member of the Elks Lodge #2705 in Laurie, Missouri and the American Legion Zack Wheat Post Ladies Auxiliary in Sunrise Beach, Missouri.Her number one past time was spoiling her grandchildren. She also enjoyed attending local auctions, reading and crocheting. She was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoyed watching her grandchildren compete in sports.Judy was a loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and aunt, and was a loving and caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2006, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Allee Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Memorials to the American Cancer Society, or a memorial fund to the family, may be made through the funeral home.
