Judith Hazel O'Bannon (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Judith Hazel (Rogers) O’Bannon, born May 14, 1942, in Springfield, MO, passed away on April 3, 2026 after a brief cancer battle. Judy was a proud North-Sider and went to school at Bowerman and Reed and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1961. She met her husband Bill in Springfield, and they were married on March 22, 1961, while he was in the Navy. After the Navy years, they settled back in Springfield, raising their three children, Michael, Christoper, and Kathleen. When they met, they found it unusual that they were born one day apart in the same Hospital. Judy loved doing things with her children, whether it be sports, cheerleading, or any of their other activities. She worked part time as a clerk at MSU and later at Consumers Markets. In 1995, Judy and Bill moved to their property in Elkland, MO. She loved the small-town country life as especially getting involved with her Church, the Charity Christian Church. She also loved seeing the country on bus trips and going to Florida with her kids. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; John and Hazel Rogers, brother James Rogers; and daughter-in-law Lisa (Rohman) and granddaughter Erin O’Bannon. She is survived by her husband Bill of 65 years; her children, Mike & wife Di of Montgomery City, MO; Chris of Elkland, MO, and Kathy & husband Larry Kincannon of Rogersville, MO; her grandchildren, L.T. & wife Kelsey Kincannon, Sean & wife Kate O’Bannon, Kyle O’Bannon & Karli Schwimley and Kasey & husband Riker Douglas; great-grandchildren, Liiam and Callum Kincannon, Harper O’Bannon, and Piper Douglas; her brothers, John Rogers and Tim Rogers & wife Gerri; her sister, Becky & husband Skip Shannon; and her nieces and nephews, Lori, Travis, Sarah, Whitney and Shad. Step grand- children and great grand-children. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026 in the Charity Christian Church with Bro. Tim Case officiating. Escorts will be Sean O’Bannon, Kyle O’Bannon, L.T. Kincannon, and Riker Douglas. Interment will be in the Charity Christian Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Charity Christian Church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo, MO.
