Judy Sitton's Obituary
Judith Ann Sitton, daughter of Robert Parris and Josephine Blanche Rotollo Denny, was born June 7, 1948, in Wichita, Kansas. She departed this life Friday, April 24, 2009, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty years, ten months, and seventeen days. On March 12, 1972, she was united in marriage to Dean Lee Sitton, and during their thirty-seven years together they were blessed with one daughter and two sons. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Janice Denny; and an aunt, Lois Denny. Judy is survived by her loving husband, Dean, of the home; a daughter, Stephanie Rogers, and her husband, David, of Lonoke, Arkansas; two sons, Scott Sitton, of Ogallala, Nebraska, and Ryan Sitton, and his wife, Trina, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Eryka, Alyn, Brittany, Tesa, Shianne, and Tebrianna; a brother, Mike Denny, and his wife, Dee, of North Platte, Nebraska; four sisters, Linda Saxton, Carol Denny, and Dawn McClannan, and her husband, Dan, all of Omaha, Nebraska, and Kelly Hansen, and her husband, Jim, of Elsie, Nebraska; a number of nieces and nephews; an aunt, Jane Janke, of Hammond, Wisconsin; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas and then moved with her family to Quinter, Kansas where she graduated from high school. She then attended Fort Hays College and studied art at Northwest Kansas Area Vocational School in Goodland, Kansas, where she met Dean. After they were married, they made their home in Okinawa, Japan and various other locations including Pratt, Kansas and El Paso, Texas, while Dean was serving in the military. During these years, Judy was a devoted homemaker and loving mother to her family, and also worked as a floral arranger while living in El Paso. In 1996, the family moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and made their home. For the last several years, Judy had worked as the secretary at South Five Church of Christ in Lebanon. Judy was an active member of South Five Church of Christ where she loved using her art training through teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary while Dean attended the United States Army Sergeant Major Academy. She had served as a 4-H leader in art, sewing and crocheting while living in Pratt, Kansas. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, which was awarded the Lebanon Garden Club Yard of the Month in 1999. She also liked making pottery, sewing, and arranging flowers. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday April 28, 2009 at the South Five Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Bovina Community Cemetery. Visitation is Monday evening 7-8:30 pm at the funeral home under the direction of the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri.
