June Turner (Buffalo)'s Obituary
June Marie (Pitts) Turner, daughter of the late Hugh and Bertha (Gaunt) Pitts was born on August 5, 1929 in Charity, MO, and departed this life on March 3, 2018 at Colonial Springs Healthcare in Buffalo, MO. At the time of her passing she was 88 years, 6 months, and 28 days of age.
June was reared and attended school in the Charity, Missouri area. She was united in marriage to Billie Joe Turner in February of 1946, and to this union four children were born, all of whom survive her. They made their home in Buffalo before moving to Marshall, MO for a short time while Billie managed a farm. They moved back to Buffalo, and then Springfield, MO for two years before settling at their home near Buffalo, MO. June worked for Key Industries and drove a School Bus for over 30 years. She decided it was time to retire when she started driving the grandchildren of the first kids she had on her bus. She loved sewing, gardening, and growing flowers. She was a member of the North Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, and loved to serve her Lord and Savior. She could often be heard singing her favorite hymns while she worked around her house.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Joe Turner; her parents; five brothers; one sister, one grandchild; and two sisters-in-law, Lanna Turner and Connie Turner. She is survived by her children, Billie Turner of Fair Grove, MO, Larry Turner of Elkland, MO, Joe & wife Patsy Turner of Buffalo, MO, and Patsy & husband Milton Duskin of Lebanon, MO; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss her.
