Junior McCoy's Obituary
Junior Loren McCoy, son of Claude R. and Bethena E. Grimes McCoy, was born September 8, 1932, near Eldridge, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, April 21, 2010, in the Ozark Rehabilitation and Care Center, in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of seventy-seven years, seven months, and twelve days. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Emmett Monroe McCoy. Junior is survived by two sisters, Faye L. Henson, and Margie Pauline Conness, both of Seneca, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; several cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Eldridge community, and attended Lebanon High School. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army from January 14, 1953, until December 23, 1956, during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged from the Army with the rank of Private First Class, he made his home in California and lived near his brother for a few years. He then moved back to the Lebanon area, and worked for Detroit Tool Company for several years. He went to work for the Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Company in Kansas City for awhile before returning to Lebanon. He had worked as a house painter and did lawn service jobs for the last several years. In his spare time he greatly enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting and fishing. He also liked making turkey calls. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them. Junior was a loving brother, uncle and cousin, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his patriotic spirit, and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday April 24, 2010 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial is in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation is Friday evening 6-7:30 p.m. under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Care Fund.
