Justin Doss' Obituary
Justin Franklin Doss was born to Leonard and Kristine Doss on December 30, 1988 in Austin, Texas. He parted this earth November 8, 2008 peacefully in his sleep at his family’s home in Osage Beach. Justin was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mollie Davidson Jones and Carol Doss. He is survived by his parents, Don and Kristine Doss Benecke of Osage Beach, Missouri and Leonard Doss of San Antonio, Texas; grandfathers, Dal Jones and Frank Doss; two loving sisters, Kourtney age 18 and Kayte Rose age 10; aunts; uncles; numerous cousins and many dear old and new friends. At the wedding of Kristine and Don in 1997, with the children’s blessing, we became a family and Don became a full-time dad to Justin and Kourtney. The position of grandfather was filled by Dal “Poppy”. The family moved to Osage Beach from St. Louis in 1998 to be next door to Grandmollie and Poppy. Justin loved soccer, the Boy Scouts and being a member of Harper Chapel. He always looked forward to the Mizzou Football season. Justin was employed at Tan-Tar-A while attending Camdenton High School. After graduation, he joined the Missouri Air Force National Guard. He completed boot camp and technical school at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. He then went to Shepard AFB in Wichita Falls, Texas to Tech School. Recently, he was reassigned to Whiteman AFB in Sedalia, Missouri for further training. He was pleased to be close to home to be with family and old friends and get mom’s home cooking. He loved the Air Force and knew he made the right decision after he joined. It made him a “man”. He formed a purpose and a career he could love. The family expresses their gratitude to all the men and women who contributed to his success. He especially enjoyed Staff Sergeant Clint Daniels. From the family, “We appreciate the motivation you brought to Justin. You took care of our “boy” turned man.” Justin was happy, outgoing and loved to smile and laugh. He was the twinkle in his sister’s eyes. Kourtney was born fourteen months after he. They were a team and never far from each other for long. Their connection will always be alive through his spirit and her heart. He also let Kayte in his heart and took both sisters under his loving arms. Neighbors, friends, and family were filled with pride at Justin’s recent accomplishments. He knew we were proud and he was loved. He lived life to the fullest with no regrets. He believed in his family, himself, his country and his God! We could not have asked for a better son or brother. Our hearts are broken! We love you Justin. The outpouring of love and support has been amazing. Our family loves and appreciates everyone at our time of need.
