K. Irene Whittaker (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Kathryn Irene Whittaker, daughter of Raymond Sylvester and Ursa Pender Larimore, was born October 25, 1936, in the State of California. She departed this life Friday, July 12, 2019, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years, eight months, and eighteen days.
On June 26, 1955, she was united in marriage to Doyle Faye “Curley” Whittaker, and to this union two daughters and two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curley, on October 24, 2011; a grandson, Sean Pilcher; a great-grandchild, Macey; and a sister, Etta Brown.
Irene is survived by two daughters, Joyce Hill, and her husband, Tim, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, and Cheryl Robbins, and her husband, Clint, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Greg Whittaker, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Stan Whittaker, and his wife, Teresa, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Letha, Jordan, Mason, Susan, Eric, Trevor, and Brandi; thirteen great-grandchildren, Brendan, Jazymyne, Kolbey, Hailey, Mikalyn, Andrew, Trent, Breanna, Jake, Autum, Gage, Emma, and Braylnn; a great-great-grandchild, Kaden Piercy; a brother-in-law, Lee Brown, of the State of Maine; several nieces and nephews; a special family friend, Charlie Pilcher, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Phillipsburg community, and graduated from Phillipsburg High School. After she and Curley were married, they made their home in Hereford, Texas, where her husband was a rancher, and she was a devoted homemaker and mother. Later, the family moved back to the Lebanon area, and Irene worked as a teacher for awhile.
Irene had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church.
She belonged to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and was very supportive of their work. She enjoyed sewing and doing wood craft projects. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making special recipes for her family and friends. She loved her family very much and especially enjoyed having time with all her grandchildren.
Irene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
Graveside services will be held Monday, July 22 at 10 a.m. at Builderback Cemetery in Conway with Larry Denney officiating.
